Join the clean up of the Cooks River on Sunday 4 March!
On Sunday 4 March at 3pm, local environmental group, the Mudcrabs will clean up the Cooks River mangrove forest next to Marrickville golf course, where rubbish is left behind when the tide goes out. These mangroves are next to the Wave Rock bush regeneration site, which is turning into a lovely bushy oasis. You can join this clean up! By joining you'll be doing two great things: 1. Stop plastic from reaching the ocean - Plastic that drifts down the Cooks River eventually reaches the ocean, where it can harm animals for decades. 2. Protect a special habitat for wildlife - Many fishes and birds have evolved to spend at least part of their lives in mangroves. Mangroves provide shelter and a rich source of food (crabs, worms, insects etc). Bring
